MSDRA came about because a group of veteran racers wanted to get a standard set of rules
established that would be used at Drag Races and Speed Runs in Maine. Originally organized as a
central Maine group, we have evolved to broaden our scope to encompass the entire State.
We decided to become a Drag Racing association with a vision to get a series of ice races that would
run every weekend starting in January and ending in March. Additionally we want to start up a points
system that would include crowning "Points Champions" in their respective classes. We will also
recognize the top 5 Drivers with the most points in each division.

Grass drags could be in MSDRA's future, but for now we are concentrating on being able to provide
the Snowmobile Clubs, hosting ice races, with a standard set of rules based on the ISR Guidelines.

We have established a "Trail Stock" class which we hope will get trail riders (with minor alterations
allowed) to come out and give organized racing a try.

MSDRA is offering to provide Tech Men for these clubs, taking on the burden of classifying sleds
and ensure each racer is in the correct class. This will allow the club's already over -worked
volunteers to concentrate on running the race. We know all too well how much work it is to put on a
race, as many of us have done that in the past.

MSDRA is excited to be partnered with several area Snowmobile Clubs allowing us to provide
organized and competitive racing once again in Maine.

Respectfully,
Board of Directors, MSDRA
